For boards that have stopped working, developed intermittent faults, or show signs of component failure, we investigate the reported symptoms and assess the affected circuitry.

Our repair work includes power-supply circuit faults, aged or failed components, and localized damage associated with water or electrolyte exposure. Where suitable components are available, repair may involve component replacement, cleaning, or work on damaged connections.

Send with your request: fault symptoms, photos of both sides, and the board or equipment model if known. If you already know which component or circuit needs attention, include that information.

Production Rework and Component Replacement

Defined rework for boards that need corrective operations, not only failed boards.

Send with your request: Quantity, component locations and work instructions.

Service details

We also accept production rework and targeted component-replacement requests. A board does not need to have failed in service to be considered.

Tell us which components or locations need work, the board quantity, and any required checks. Available rework capabilities include through-hole and SMD components, power devices, BGA, QFN, QFP, and flexible-board rework.

For multiple boards, identify whether they share the same revision and required operation. We will review access to the work area, component requirements, and the proposed verification method before confirming the scope and schedule.

Pad and Trace Repair

Service details

We accept requests involving damaged pads, broken surface copper traces, and localized connection damage, including damage found during previous component removal or repair.

Send with your request: clear close-ups and a board overview, with the damaged connection marked if possible. A schematic, reference image, or known-good board can help establish the intended connection.

The repair approach depends on the remaining material, access to the area, and the electrical connection that needs to be restored. Internal-layer or extensive structural damage needs separate review.

Repair requests come from equipment maintenance teams, electronics repair businesses, and manufacturers with boards that need corrective work.

Our engineering experience includes boards from slow-wire EDM machines and laser marking equipment. We also review industrial and commercial assemblies for the repair and rework operations described above.

For an equipment fault, tell us what the board controls and how the problem appears. For production rework, describe the required operation and the result you need checked. A clear work instruction can be more useful than a machine fault description when the task is already defined.

Inspection scope

Evaluation may include visual and magnified inspection, component measurements, and circuit checks using oscilloscopes, LCR meters, and bench power supplies.

Where a known-good board is available, comparison of resistance to ground, node voltages, and waveforms can help identify differences.

When the Required Work Is Defined

We review the specified locations, perform the agreed work, and verify connections.

Inspection scope

For component rework or pad and trace repair, we review the affected locations, the requested operation, and the checks needed afterward. These may include inspection of the repaired area, continuity checks, or relevant board-level measurements.

If your project has an acceptance procedure or needs a fixture, reference board, or specific test setup, share that information before work is agreed.

Available equipment, fixtures and reference information determine test scope. Board-level checks do not always verify complete machine operation.

What the results can establish

A repaired connection, a replaced component, and a fully verified board are different outcomes. We agree the applicable checks for the project and identify any functions that cannot be verified under the available conditions.

Complete machine-level verification may require the original equipment, loads, peripherals, or fixtures. Photos help with preliminary review, but they do not replace physical inspection.

Physical diagnosis

USD 150 / board

Paid before diagnosis. Fully credited toward approved repair. Complex or multi-board projects are quoted separately.

For standard fault-diagnosis jobs, the physical diagnostic fee is USD 150 per board, paid before diagnosis begins. It is fully credited toward the approved repair. Complex, high-power or multi-board projects are quoted separately.

Defined component replacement, production rework, and pad or trace repair are quoted according to the work required. A separate fault-diagnosis charge is not automatically added when that diagnosis is unnecessary. Any additional diagnostic work needs your approval.

If repair does not proceed

Completed diagnosis remains chargeable. No charge for repair work not performed. Customer pays return shipping.

If diagnosis has been completed and the board cannot be repaired, or you decline the repair proposal, the diagnostic fee remains chargeable. There is no charge for repair work that has not been performed; you pay return shipping.

If diagnosis has not started, you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused diagnostic service fee. Any non-refundable third-party costs must have been disclosed and approved beforehand. Cancellation terms for approved custom parts or separately authorized work are agreed before those costs are incurred.

We explain the findings and any test limitations, then arrange the next step with you. Disposal or referral to ReversePCB requires your written consent; a lack of response does not authorize either action.

Typical repair: 7–10 business days after receipt

Day 1 is the next working day after receipt and board identification. Shipping, customs, approval and parts delays are excluded.

Timing and shipping details

For normal repair jobs, this typical period covers physical inspection, repair and the agreed board-level checks. Day 1 is the next working day after receipt and board identification at our Shenzhen receiving location. Weekends and Chinese public holidays are excluded.

Shipping, customs clearance, waiting for your information or approval, parts delays and requested holds are excluded. If the schedule pauses, we explain the reason and its expected impact, then provide an updated estimate when work resumes.

Defined rework and batch jobs are quoted and scheduled separately. Fault complexity and test requirements may also extend the schedule. Share your target date with your request; expedited work must be confirmed for the project. The typical period is not a guaranteed deadline or a door-to-door delivery estimate.

Questions About Repair and Rework

Do you accept production rework, not just failed equipment boards?

Yes. We accept production rework, component replacement, and localized PCB repairs as well as fault diagnosis. Tell us whether you need a fault investigated or a defined operation performed.

Can I request only pad or trace repair?

Yes. Pad and surface-trace repair can be submitted as the required service. Include clear close-up photos and any information showing the intended connection. Board condition and access determine the repair approach.

Can I send several boards with the same issue?

Yes, you can submit a multiple-board request for review. Include the quantity, board revision, and whether the same fault or rework instruction applies to every board. We confirm the scope and timing for the project rather than assuming every board needs identical work.

Do I need schematics?

Not for every request. A defined rework operation or visible damage may be reviewed using photos and work instructions. For unknown faults, schematics, test notes, or a known-good board can help with diagnosis and verification.

Can you test the complete board after repair?

That depends on the available equipment and information. Board-level checks may be possible, while full functional testing may need the original machine, fixtures, loads, or peripherals. We clarify the applicable test scope for the job.

Should I ship the board immediately?

Please contact us first. Share photos, your location, and the fault symptoms or rework instructions. We review the request and identify the next step before shipment; physical inspection may still be needed to determine the work.
